Privacy Policy
This notice explains what personal data Signet Secure Ltd collects through this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
Signet Secure Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17268258, and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration ZC106119.
We are based in London and operate across the United Kingdom. Please contact us using the details below.
Data protection enquiries: operations@signet-secure.co.uk or 020 3355 4994 (line open 24/7).
What we collect and why
When you complete the enquiry form on this site we ask for:
- Your name
- Your company, if you give one
- Your email address
- Your telephone number
- The collection and delivery locations for the movement
- An estimated value band for the consignment
- Any further details you choose to write in the message field
We use these details to respond to you, to assess whether we can accept the movement, and to prepare a quotation and written custody terms. The form asks you not to submit serial numbers, exact security details or other sensitive specifics; those are captured through a controlled channel once an engagement is accepted.
If you contact us by email or telephone we hold the contact details and the content of that correspondence for the same purposes.
With your consent, we also collect website usage data through analytics — see the Cookie Policy.
Lawful bases
- Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and performance of a contract — assessing, quoting and carrying out a movement.
- Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries, keeping records of correspondence, and protecting the security of our operations and this site.
- Consent — analytics cookies and any marketing email you have asked to receive. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records to comply with UK law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and correspondence that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact, then deleted or anonymised.
Records relating to an accepted engagement are kept only for as long as we need them to deliver the service and to deal with any queries or claims arising from it.
Accounting, invoice, contract and related transaction records may be retained for six years from the end of the company financial year they relate to, where we are required to keep them.
We delete records earlier where it is appropriate to do so, and keep them longer only where the law, an ongoing dispute or an investigation requires it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — website analytics and session recording, loaded only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Opinly (static.opinly.ai) — website analytics, loaded only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Our hosting, database and email delivery providers, which process enquiry submissions and the notification emails we receive.
- Professional advisers, or law enforcement and regulators, where we are legally required to disclose information.
International transfers
Microsoft (Clarity) and Opinly are international services and may use sub-processors outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data leaves the UK, it is transferred using appropriate safeguards as applicable — UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — as set out by the provider in question. We rely on the safeguards those providers publish rather than on any inspection of our own.
Their current privacy information is published at Microsoft Privacy Statement and Opinly Privacy Policy.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to erase data where there is no longer a reason to keep it
- Ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it
- Ask us to transfer data you gave us to you or another controller
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email operations@signet-secure.co.uk.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would ask you to raise it with us first so we can try to put it right.
